Culverin

A culverin is an early type of artillery used from the 15th to 17th centuries, primarily in naval and land warfare. It was a long, slender cannon designed to shoot heavy projectiles over long distances with accuracy. Made of bronze or iron, culverins were more advanced than earlier cannons due to their improved range and firing power. They played a key role in shaping military strategies during the age of sail and early gunpowder warfare, helping armies and navies defend territories and project power across great distances.
