Cultural Evolution Theory

Cultural Evolution Theory explains how human cultures develop and change over time through processes similar to biological evolution. Ideas, practices, and traditions are transmitted across generations, and those that are beneficial or appealing tend to spread and persist, while less effective ones fade away. This ongoing process shapes societies, behaviors, and beliefs, allowing cultures to adapt to their environments and circumstances. Like biological evolution, it involves variation, selection, and transmission, but it occurs through learning and social sharing rather than genetic inheritance.
