Cultural censorship

Cultural censorship involves restricting or controlling ideas, expressions, or artistic works that are deemed inappropriate or threatening to a society’s values, traditions, or beliefs. It can be implemented by governments, institutions, or social groups to preserve a particular cultural identity or moral standards. This often results in limiting access to certain books, movies, music, or other forms of cultural expression. While sometimes justified to protect community standards, it can also suppress creativity, diversity, and free exchange of ideas, raising important questions about balancing cultural preservation with freedom of expression.
