cuirassier regiments
Cuirassier regiments were elite cavalry units in European armies, particularly prominent from the 17th to the 19th centuries. They were named for their distinctive armor, typically a breastplate (cuirass) and a helmet, which offered protection in battle. Cuirassiers rode large horses and were often deployed in heavy cavalry charges against enemy infantry and other cavalry. Known for their strength and discipline, they played significant roles in major conflicts, such as the Napoleonic Wars. Although their armored design became less practical with advances in warfare, they symbolize the grandeur of cavalry in military history.
