CTSS

CTSS, or Compatible Time-Sharing System, was an early computer operating system developed in the 1960s at MIT. It allowed multiple users to share a single computer interactively by dividing its time among them, enabling tasks like programming and data processing to be done simultaneously. This made computers more accessible and efficient, paving the way for modern multitasking systems. Essentially, CTSS was a pioneering software that introduced the concept of time-sharing, allowing many users to work with a computer at the same time, greatly enhancing its utility and user experience.
