CTD
CTD, or Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth, is a set of measurements used in oceanography to understand ocean conditions. Conductivity indicates how well seawater conducts electricity, which relates to its saltiness (salinity). Temperature measures how warm or cold the water is. Depth records how deep below the surface the measurement is taken. Together, these parameters help scientists analyze ocean circulation, predict weather patterns, and monitor marine environments. CTD sensors are often mounted on a special device that is lowered into the water, providing vital data about underwater conditions in real time.
