CTBT (Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty)

The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) is an international agreement that bans all nuclear explosions for both civilian and military purposes. Its goal is to prevent the development of new nuclear weapons and to promote global security by ensuring no country tests nuclear devices underground, underwater, or in the atmosphere. Built upon an extensive verification system of monitoring stations and inspections, the treaty aims to reduce the risk of nuclear proliferation and encourage nuclear disarmament. Although signed by many countries, it has not yet entered into force, as some key nations have not ratified it.
