CT Pulmonary Angiography
CT Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA) is a specialized medical imaging test that uses a CT scan and a contrast dye injected into your veins to visualize the blood vessels in your lungs. This allows doctors to quickly and accurately detect blood clots, known as pulmonary embolisms, or other abnormalities in the pulmonary arteries. The procedure is minimally invasive, typically performed on an outpatient basis, and provides detailed images that help guide diagnosis and treatment decisions for lung circulation issues.
