CSMA/CD

CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) is a network protocol used in Ethernet to manage data transmission. Devices check if the network is free before sending data; if busy, they wait. If two devices transmit simultaneously, a collision occurs, causing the data to be garbled. When detected, both devices stop, wait a random time, and then retry. This process helps prevent data conflicts, ensuring efficient communication over shared wired networks by coordinating when each device can send information.
