Cryptogenic Epilepsy

Cryptogenic epilepsy is a type of epilepsy where seizures occur, but the exact cause remains unknown despite thorough medical investigation. This means that, unlike some other forms of epilepsy caused by identifiable issues like brain injury or tumors, the underlying reason for seizures in cryptogenic epilepsy can’t be determined. It’s believed that subtle brain abnormalities or genetic factors may be involved. While the lack of a clear cause can be frustrating, effective treatments are available to help manage symptoms and reduce the frequency and impact of seizures.
