Cryotomy
Cryotomy is a laboratory technique used to prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination. The tissue is rapidly frozen, often with liquid nitrogen or other coolants, which preserves its structure and cellular details. Once frozen, the tissue is sliced into very thin sections using a special instrument called a cryostat. These thin sections can then be stained and examined under a microscope to help diagnose diseases or study tissue architecture. Cryotomy allows for quick and accurate analysis, especially useful during surgeries or for preserving delicate tissues without causing damage.
