cryonics

Cryonics is the process of preserving individuals at very low temperatures shortly after death, with the goal of potential future revival when advanced medical technology may allow reversing current causes of death. The process typically involves cooling the body and replacing blood with cryoprotectants to prevent ice formation. Although current science cannot revitalize a preserved body, some see cryonics as a possibility for extending life or achieving future revival if imaging, repair, and regeneration technologies advance sufficiently. It remains a controversial and experimental practice, not yet proven or recognized as a means of actual revival.
