Crocidolite

Crocidolite, commonly known as blue asbestos, is a naturally occurring mineral from the asbestos family. It consists of long, thin, flexible fibers that are resistant to heat, chemicals, and electrical conductivity. Historically used in insulation, fireproofing, and automotive parts, crocidolite has a high health risk because its tiny fibers can become airborne and inhaled, potentially causing serious diseases like asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma over time. Due to these dangers, its use is now banned or heavily restricted in many countries, and proper safety measures are essential when handling it.
