Crater Lake

Crater Lake is a stunning deep blue lake in Oregon, formed inside a collapsed volcano called Mount Mazama. Around 7,700 years ago, a volcanic eruption caused the mountain to erupt and then collapse, creating a large caldera that filled with rain and snowmelt. Its maximum depth is about 1,949 feet, making it one of the deepest lakes in the United States. The lake is renowned for its bright blue color, clarity, and pristine waters, with no rivers feeding into or draining from it. Crater Lake is a protected national park, offering spectacular scenery, hiking, and boat tours.
