Crassulaceae

Crassulaceae is a family of flowering plants known for their ability to store water in thick, fleshy leaves, making many of them well-suited to dry environments. Commonly called jade plants or sedums, these plants often have rosettes of succulent leaves and showy, star-shaped flowers. They are popular in gardens and as houseplants due to their resilience and attractive appearance. Crassulaceae plants use a special watering adaptation called Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) photosynthesis, allowing them to minimize water loss by opening their stomata at night. They thrive in arid, rocky, or well-drained soils.
