Craig's Test
Craig's Test is a clinical procedure used by healthcare providers to assess the rotation of the femoral neck, which can indicate conditions like femoral anteversion or retroversion. The patient lies on their back, and the examiner rotates the hip to find the point where the greater trochanter (a bony bump on the thigh bone) is most prominent or closest to the table. The angle of rotation at this point reflects the femoral anteversion, helping diagnose abnormal hip positioning or rotational deformities. It’s a useful, non-invasive way to evaluate hip anatomy and guide treatment decisions.
