Crabs
Crabs are crustaceans with a broad, flattened body and a hard exoskeleton that provides protection. They typically have ten limbs—eight walking legs and two claws used for feeding and defense. Crabs are found in various environments, including oceans, freshwater, and on land, and they play important roles in ecosystems by scavenging and preying on smaller organisms. Their exoskeleton must be shed periodically through a process called molting to allow growth. Crabs can vary greatly in size, shape, and habitat, but all share common features like a rounded body and jointed limbs, making them well-adapted for their diverse lifestyles.
