Cox model
The Cox model is a statistical tool used to analyze the time until an event occurs, such as recovery or failure, while considering factors that might affect this timing. It estimates how different variables—like age, treatment, or lifestyle—impact the likelihood of the event happening at any given moment. Importantly, it accounts for data where some subjects haven't experienced the event by the study's end (censored data). The model helps identify which factors are influential and provides insights into how they increase or decrease the chance of the event over time, without requiring assumptions about the overall timing distribution.
