covert narcissist vs. overt narcissist

A covert narcissist tends to be more subtle, often appearing shy, modest, or vulnerable, but still seeking admiration and validation internally. They may feel entitled yet hide their arrogance, sometimes acting self-effacing. An overt narcissist, on the other hand, is openly grandiose, seeking attention, admiration, and validation openly and confidently. They often display arrogance, boastfulness, and a sense of superiority. Both have narcissistic traits but differ mainly in their external behavior: covert narcissists are more inward-looking and subtle, while overt narcissists are more blatant in their self-importance.
