Court trial

A court trial is a formal process where a judge (and sometimes a jury) evaluates evidence and listens to arguments from both sides—plaintiffs and defendants or prosecutors and defendants—to determine the facts of a case. The goal is to decide whether someone is responsible for a crime or civil wrong based on the law and evidence presented. Trials involve opening statements, witness testimonies, cross-examinations, and closing arguments. After reviewing all information, the judge or jury renders a verdict, which may result in a criminal conviction, acquittal, or a civil judgment.
