Court of Federal Claims
The Court of Federal Claims is a special court in the United States judicial system that hears cases involving money claims against the federal government. This includes disputes over contracts, taxes, and claims from veterans or contractors. Established to provide a way to resolve these financial disputes, the court assesses whether the government has a legal obligation to pay. Unlike other courts, it focuses primarily on monetary compensation and operates under specific rules tailored to issues involving federal law. Decisions can sometimes be appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
