Countryside Council for Wales

The Countryside Council for Wales was a government agency responsible for protecting and improving Wales's natural environment, including wildlife, landscapes, and freshwater systems. It managed national parks, protected areas, and promoted sustainable land use. The organization also provided advice on conservation and outdoor recreation, ensuring that Wales’s natural heritage was preserved and accessible for future generations. In 2013, it was replaced by Natural Resources Wales, which now oversees these responsibilities in a more integrated manner.
