Counterbattery Fire
Counterbattery fire is a military tactic used to detect and target enemy artillery or mortar positions. When the enemy fires, counterbattery units quickly locate their launcher’s position by analyzing the sound, radar signals, or projectile trajectories. Once identified, they aim their own weapons to precisely destroy or disable the enemy’s artillery before it can fire again. The goal is to reduce the enemy's firepower and protect friendly forces from artillery attacks. This process requires rapid detection, accurate targeting, and coordinated offensive action to effectively neutralize external artillery threats.
