Count Emicho
Count Emicho was a medieval nobleman from the Holy Roman Empire, active during the late 12th and early 13th centuries. He was known for leading violent campaigns during the Crusades, particularly targeting Jewish communities in Germany around 1096. His actions involved attacking and massacring Jewish populations, which were part of wider antisemitic sentiments and accusations during that period. Count Emicho's campaign is remembered as one of the earliest and most notorious instances of violent anti-Jewish violence associated with the Crusades.
