Council of Orange
The Council of Orange, held in 529 AD, was a church gathering in what is now southeastern France. It addressed theological disputes about salvation, grace, and free will, affirming that God's grace is essential for salvation and that humans cannot achieve salvation solely through their efforts. The council also condemned certain heresies related to these topics. Its decisions helped shape Western Christian doctrine, emphasizing the importance of divine grace while recognizing human cooperation in the process of salvation.
