Council of Manzikert

The Council of Manzikert was a church gathering held in 1176 in present-day Turkey, aimed at addressing internal conflicts within the Armenian Church. It sought to clarify church doctrines, resolve disputes, and affirm the church’s independence from outside authorities, particularly the Byzantine Empire.
