Council of Carthage

The Council of Carthage was a series of early Christian church meetings held in the city of Carthage (present-day Tunisia) during the 3rd and 4th centuries. These councils addressed important religious issues, such as defining church doctrines, establishing canonical books of the Bible, and resolving disputes among Christian communities. They played a key role in shaping early Christian theology and organization, helping to unify beliefs and practices across different regions. The most notable was the Council of Carthage in 397 AD, which affirmed the current list of the New Testament books.
