Cotton Club
The Cotton Club was a famous nightclub in New York City during the 1920s and early 1930s. It was renowned for its lively jazz performances and entertainment, featuring some of the era’s most talented Black musicians and entertainers. Although it showcased Black artists, the club’s audience was primarily white, and it operated during a time of racial segregation. The Cotton Club became an iconic symbol of the Harlem Renaissance, celebrating African American culture through music and dance, while also reflecting the racial inequalities of the period.
