Cortical Regions
Cortical regions are specific areas of the brain's outer layer, called the cerebral cortex, each specialized for different functions. For example, the frontal lobe handles thinking, decision-making, and movement; the parietal lobe processes sensory information like touch; the temporal lobe is involved in hearing and memory; and the occipital lobe primarily manages visual information. These regions work together to enable us to think, feel, sense, and act. Understanding these areas helps researchers and doctors diagnose and treat neurological conditions by pinpointing where function or communication may be affected.
