Correlation coefficients

A correlation coefficient is a number that describes how two things are related. It ranges from -1 to +1. A value close to +1 means that as one thing increases, the other tends to increase as well. A value near -1 indicates that as one increases, the other decreases. A value around 0 suggests no clear relationship between them. It helps us understand the strength and direction of a connection between two variables, such as height and weight, without implying one causes the other.
