Corpus Juris Canonici

The Corpus Juris Canonici, or "Body of Canon Law," is a collection of fundamental legal texts governing the Roman Catholic Church. It includes laws, regulations, and guidelines that dictate how the Church operates, covering matters such as the administration of sacraments, the conduct of clergy, and Church governance. Established over centuries, it serves as the foundation for canon law, helping ensure order and consistency within the Church. Though it has been largely replaced by the 1983 Code of Canon Law, the Corpus Juris Canonici remains important for understanding the historical development of ecclesiastical law.
