coronary stenting

Coronary stenting is a medical procedure to open blocked or narrowed arteries in the heart. A small mesh tube, called a stent, is inserted into the artery using a balloon catheter. Once in place, the balloon expands the stent, supporting the artery walls and improving blood flow. The stent remains there permanently, helping to keep the artery open and reducing the risk of a heart attack. This procedure is often performed during angioplasty and is a common treatment for coronary artery disease.
