Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a condition where the blood vessels that supply the heart muscle become narrowed or blocked due to the buildup of fatty deposits called plaque. This reduces blood flow to the heart, which can cause chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, or even a heart attack if a blockage fully stops blood supply. CAD develops over time, often related to factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking, and unhealthy lifestyle. Managing risk factors through healthy habits and medications can help prevent or slow its progression.
