Cordillera peoples
The Cordillera peoples are indigenous communities living in the rugged mountain ranges called the Cordillera in northern Philippines. They have unique cultures, languages, and traditions centered around agriculture, particularly rice terrace farming on mountain slopes. Historically, they maintain strong social identities and practices, often resisting external influences to preserve their heritage. Their societies are organized into clans and tribes, with a deep connection to the land and environment. Known for their craftsmanship, music, and dances, the Cordillera peoples' way of life reflects their adaptation to and respect for the challenging mountainous landscape.
