Cordillera languages
The Cordillera languages are a group of related languages spoken by indigenous peoples in the mountainous Cordillera region of northern Luzon, Philippines. These languages belong mainly to the Austronesian family and include several distinct but related languages such as Kankanaey, Ifugao, and Ibaloi. They are characterized by unique vocabularies, pronunciation, and grammatical structures that reflect the diverse cultures of the indigenous groups. These languages help preserve cultural identity and traditional knowledge, despite challenges from modern influences. They are an integral part of the region's rich cultural heritage and continue to be spoken by communities in the Cordillera mountains.
