Cordeliers
The Cordeliers are a historic group in France, originally a fraternity of Franciscan friars called the "Cordeliers," known for their simple lifestyle and commitment to helping the poor. In a political context, the name also refers to a revolutionary society formed during the French Revolution, called the "Cordeliers Club," which included passionate citizens and agitators advocating for liberté, égalité, and fraternity. This club was influential in pushing revolutionary ideas and challenging existing authority, playing a key role in shaping France’s move toward democracy.
