
Copa América Centenario
Copa América Centenario was a special international football tournament held in 2016 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of South America’s premier national team competition. Organized jointly by CONMEBOL (South America) and CONCACAF (North and Central America), it featured 16 teams, including invited teams from outside South America, such as Mexico and the United States. Held across the United States, the tournament showcased top national teams competing for a prestigious title, culminating in the United States defeating Argentina in the final. It aimed to honor the tournament’s history, promote the sport in the region, and foster international competition.
