COP (Coefficient of Performance)
The Coefficient of Performance (COP) measures how efficiently a heating or cooling system operates. It compares the amount of heat transferred (either added or removed) to the energy input (like electricity used). For example, a heat pump with a COP of 4 delivers four units of heating or cooling for every one unit of energy it consumes. A higher COP indicates better efficiency, meaning the system does more with less energy. It's a useful way to assess and compare the performance of systems like air conditioners, heaters, and heat pumps.
