Cooperative Commonwealth Federation (CCF)
The Cooperative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) was a Canadian political party founded in 1932 that aimed to promote social justice and economic reform through democratic means. It focused on improving workers’ rights, social welfare, and public ownership of key industries, advocating for a more equitable economy. The CCF sought to address the hardships of the Great Depression by creating policies that supported everyday Canadians. In 1961, it evolved into the New Democratic Party (NDP), which continues to promote similar social and economic values in Canadian politics today.
