Conventional oil extraction
Conventional oil extraction involves drilling deep into underground rock formations where crude oil is naturally trapped. Once a well reaches the oil reservoir, pressure is often sufficient to allow the oil to flow to the surface without special techniques. The extracted oil is then collected, processed to remove impurities, and refined into fuels like gasoline and diesel. This method relies on well-established drilling and production technologies and typically targets porous, permeable rock formations with accessible oil accumulations.
