Convention Delegates
Convention delegates are representatives chosen to attend and participate in a formal meeting or assembly, usually to discuss and decide on policies, laws, or leadership. In political contexts, such as a party convention, delegates advocate for specific candidates and help shape the party’s platform. They are often elected or selected through primaries, caucuses, or party rules. Essentially, delegates serve as the voice of a larger group, carrying their interests and opinions to the convention, where decisions affecting the organization or nation are made through discussion and voting.
