Consultative Committee for International Telegraphy and Telephony (CCITT)

The Consultative Committee for International Telegraphy and Telephony (CCITT) was an international organization established in 1956 to develop global standards for telecommunications, including telephone, telegraph, and data transmission systems. It aimed to ensure interoperability and compatibility across different countries' networks, promoting efficient and reliable communication worldwide. In 1993, CCITT became part of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T). Its work laid the foundation for many modern communication protocols and standards, facilitating seamless international connectivity.
