Consubstantiation

Consubstantiation is a theological concept, primarily associated with some Christian traditions, describing how the body and blood of Christ are present in the Eucharist. It posits that during communion, Christ's presence coexists with the bread and wine, which remain physically unchanged. Instead of transforming into Christ’s body and blood (as in transubstantiation), the substance of the bread and wine accompanies Christ’s real presence. This view emphasizes a spiritual rather than a literal change, where Christ is truly present alongside the elements, allowing believers to partake in a shared, sacred experience.
