Constantius II

Constantius II was a Roman emperor who ruled from 337 to 361 AD. He was one of the three sons of Constantine the Great, the first Roman emperor to embrace Christianity. During his reign, Constantius faced challenges like civil wars, external invasions, and religious conflicts, particularly between Arian Christians and mainstream Christianity. He is known for promoting Arianism and for his attempts to strengthen the eastern part of the empire. His rule ended when he died in battle against the Persians, marking a significant period of transition for the Roman Empire as it dealt with both internal and external pressures.
