Constantine-Cyril Methodius
Constantine-Cyril and Methodius were 9th-century Byzantine brothers who created the Glagolitic alphabet, the first written system for the Slavic languages. Their goal was to make religious texts accessible in the Slavic languages, facilitating Christian teachings. Their work laid the foundation for later Cyrillic script, which is still used today in many Slavic countries like Russia and Bulgaria. Their efforts significantly contributed to the cultural and religious identity of the Slavic peoples, helping spread Christianity and literacy across Eastern Europe.
