Consilience

Consilience is the idea that evidence from different fields of knowledge—such as science, history, or philosophy—can come together to support a single conclusion. When multiple independent lines of inquiry converge on the same answer, it strengthens our confidence in that conclusion. For example, understanding human biology, archaeology, and linguistics might all point to the same story about human migration. This unity of evidence helps us build a more comprehensive and reliable understanding of complex questions by cross-validating findings from various disciplines.
