Conrad III of Germany

Conrad III of Germany (1093-1152) was a German king from the House of Hohenstaufen, reigning from 1138 until his death. Known for his conflicts with the papacy and rival nobles, he played a significant role in the power struggles of the Holy Roman Empire during the 12th century. Conrad sought to strengthen the monarchy, engage in Crusades, and expand his territory. His reign was marked by battles against various factions, including the Welf family, and set the stage for the later ambitions of his successors, particularly his nephew, Frederick Barbarossa.
