Conrad I of Germany

Conrad I of Germany (911–918) was a medieval king who became the first elected king of East Francia (later Germany) after the decline of Carolingian authority. His rise marked a shift from hereditary monarchy to a more medieval form of kingship elected by nobles. Conrad worked to strengthen royal power, promote stability, and manage conflicts among German princes. His reign helped lay the foundation for the future Holy Roman Empire. Despite challenges from rival noble factions, Conrad maintained his position until his death, earning respect for his leadership and efforts to unify the fragmented German territories.
