Conquest of Acre

The Conquest of Acre was a pivotal battle in the late 13th century during the Crusades, involving European Christian armies and Muslim forces. Acre, a strategic city in what is now Israel, was a key port controlling access to the Holy Land. In 1291, the Crusaders launched a siege to recapture it from the Mamluks, a Muslim state. Despite fierce fighting, the Crusaders ultimately failed, and Acre fell to the Mamluks, marking the end of the Crusader presence in the Holy Land. This event significantly shifted control of the region from European Christians to Muslim powers.
