connected spaces

A connected space is a shape or area that cannot be divided into two separate, non-overlapping parts without cutting through it. In simple terms, you can move within the space from any point to any other point without leaving it or crossing a barrier that splits it into separate pieces. For example, a solid blob of jelly is connected because there’s only one piece, while an archipelago (group of islands) is not, since each island is separated by water. Connectivity helps us understand how different parts of a space relate and whether they form a single, unified whole.
